Cooking Vacations in France
To go deeper into understanding French Food and Culture, we organize residential cooking holidays in various regions of France. These experiences are held in great locations where you will have a nice bedroom with en-suite bathroom. We rent those places just for you and us – with a maximum of 8 participants.
During the week you will cook every day with Le Foodist Chefs, and one day with a Local Chef. But you will also get to discover very interesting local vineyards and wine growers, meet local producers of iconic products, explore local markets and eat at the best tables at the region.
We have done all the work on finding those great locations, so these residential holidays are all inclusive, from the moment we pick you up at the nearest train station to the moment we bring you back. We truly believe this is a fantastic way to Discover French Culture through Food.

Cooking Holidays
in Provence
During that one week residential stay, you will cook every day, visit local Provence markets, get to discover the best retaurants around and taste great wine. Provence is a part of France associated with the sun, so we will bring the sun to your plate. We will also discover local wineyards, and cook some of the best the South of France has to offer.

My wife and I have just returned from spending a delightful week (July 7-14) with Fred and Amanda Pouillot at a villa in Sablet, France. We were introduced to Le Foodist in 2017, when we visited Paris and signed up for a class of French cooking and culture at their school. It was such a wonderful experience that we eagerly participated in Le Foodist's inaugural program of an extended visit to the Provence region exploring the culture through cooking, visiting vineyards, farms, and markets, and eating at local restaurants. In addition to Fred and Amanda, we had the opportunity to learn from some of the other chefs and sommeliers at Le Foodist, as well as several local chefs in Provence. The most delightful and memorable parts of the trip were the extended discussions and storytelling over each meal exploring what we had experienced. Overall, this combination of activities enhanced our appreciation of French cooking and culture as envisioned by the Pouillots. We look forward to visiting other parts of France in the near future with Le Foodist.

Discover French Culture through Other Food Experiences
Discovering culture through food is what we want to do when we travel. So we have developed all our experiences with that simple idea in mind: ensure that you learn both about the topic at hand, but also about French culture in the process. So in our food tours, we will talk about the history of various aspects of French food, in our cooking class in Paris about how certain dishes became so important in our culture. During our wine tastings, we will explore the regional differences in French culture. And, a regional residential holiday is an opportunity to deep dive French food culture to its core and foundation: the regional gastronomies, and the concept of terroir.
