Probably no other city in the world is more synonymous with food than is Paris. In many ways this is the culinary capital of the world. It is no wonder then that there are so many Paris cooking classes to choose from but at Le Foodist we think that our approach is a refreshing one. Our engaging selection of courses includes our 'Travel and Chef' classes which mix cooking with an appreciation of French culture. 'Daring Pairings' meanwhile will teach you how to match wine with food while sharing secrets about identifying different wines. Our course will have you paring wine with all sorts of different flavours, such as chocolate.
Our 'Sweet Stories' sessions impart our expertise on making fine pastries, where you will get your hands deep in the dough while learning about the precision of pastry making. Alongside our Paris cooking classes, our 'Once Upon a table' event offers an excellent gourmet evening where our guests enjoy tasting, rather than cooking, a gastronomic French meal. With five carefully chosen courses and matched wines, our evenings feature stories about the dishes we enjoy, discussing the origins of the food and the events that have brought them to our tables.
Whichever course or event you decide to attend, you will find that a unique feature of our Paris cooking classes is the central role that discussion of wider French culture takes in our teaching. This is because we believe that to truly understand French cuisine, you need to have an appreciation of French culture. Therefore, throughout our Paris cooking classes, we share our experiences and stories of ingredients, produce and dishes. Understanding where the food has come from and the geography and history that shapes our menus gives a much deeper appreciation of French cooking.
Our teaching approach is rigorous but also informal and enjoyable. Throughout your time with us you will be regaled with our thoughts and memories of great food and be encouraged to share your own experiences. When the cooking is finished, our Paris cooking classes end with you gathered around the table with your fellow students and our chefs, enjoying the product of our labours and sharing yet more thoughts about the cuisine we are enjoying. With a unique teaching technique to help you learn quickly and retain your knowledge, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of your course for years to come.
